Multi-channel ACTIVITY

Examples of the varied activities I have developed from idea to delivery.

christmas retail guide

As the in-house Marketing Manager at Beattie Communications, I was challenged to raise the awareness and increase the number of leads of potential clients.

For Christmas 2016, I developed the idea and project managed a Christmas Retail Guide that was printed and sent as ‘Christmas gift’ during the summer. It was also available online.

SCOTTISH CUP PREDICTOR

The Scottish Cup Predictor was created as a way of getting fans to engage with the early rounds of the Scottish Cup, remain interested in the cup once their team was knocked out and collect marketing opt-ins.

I pitched the initial idea before project managing the development, activation and promotion of the predictor. We worked with a third party to develop the predictor.

The predictor had over 2000 people play it, in its first season.

SCOTLAND NATIONAL TEAM PODCAST

After analysing fan data and insights, I launched the Official Scotland National Team Podcast as longer-form content to speak to a target audience of Scotland fans in a way that we hadn’t done before.

I have been responsible for coordinating production, hosts, guests, content and acting as producer.

Podcasts have included previews and interviews with former players.

big scottish football quiz

Facing no football and already a couple of weeks into lockdown, I managed two online Big Scottish Football Quizzes.

With the aim of keeping people engaged with the Scotland National Team, collection of marketing opt-in data and to show the Scottish FA as being innovative we live streamed the quiz across Facebook and YouTube.

To make the quiz stand out from the many others taking place we engaged a third party platform who subsequently used the Scottish FA as a case-study it was that successful.

Grassroots football app

I was approached by the grassroots football team with a problem that the rules for grassroots coaches were never reaching them which was causing a whole host of problems for teams.

After being presented with a chunky document that was meant to be available to coaches, I planned and project managed the launch of a new app alongside the development agency. This was the first of its kind for the Scottish FA.

EMAIL MARKETING MANAGEMENT

At both the Scottish FA and NL Leisure, I developed the email marketing strategy that includes automated welcome and birthday emails, vibrant newsletters as well as implementing a segmented approach.

Email content created includes member updates, birthday emails, fan newsletters, match info emails, sales emails, coaching newsletters, survey emails and club services updates.

LOVE ISLAND FINAL EVENT

I was set the challenge to drive more footfall into Brel Bar (Glasgow West End) particularly on the quieter days. Throughout the summer of 2021, I came up with the idea of Love Island Bingo every Sunday nigh which proved popular.

To round off our summer season and to tap into the popularity of Love Island, I created a Love Island Final event which sold out the outside area of Brel and extended the stay time of many other walk-in groups resulting in a very successful Monday night at the bar.

SCOTLAND EURO 2020 SQUAD

I came up with the original idea, planned and managed the Scotland EURO 2020 squad announcement.

The idea around the squad announcement was to have a squad announcement that connected with different parts of Scottish culture that would have multiple uses.

At the centre of the squad announcement were 26 Scottish illustrators, who each drew a player that was used in the squad announcement video, was available to buy and were used within the Scotland HQ that was set up in Glasgow. I also scripted the final video.
